Dori Rootenberg, Founder

Dori is the sole curator of the JacarandaStyle collection, bringing together her fashion credentials, design skills and deep affection for handmade South African crafts. Her collection includes hand painted ceramics, unique home accents including silver, brass and pewter serving accessories, ostrich egg art, colorful beadwork and handmade jewelry and fine gifts. The collection is distinguished by master craftsmanship and designs that will enhance even the most sophisticated home décor.

Dori has always loved art and design. She earned her BA in Art History and then a degree in advertising and communications. Her education trained her eye for the rare and beautiful. When Dori met and married her South African husband, Daniel, they traveled extensively throughout the country. She fell in love with the sophisticated colors, premier craftsmanship and unique and often whimsical designs she found during her travels.

JacarandaStyle was born with a commitment to sell the finest and most unique home accessories and jewelry while giving back to South Africa by supporting a very special charity. A portion of every sale is donated to the Ethembeni School for Disabled Children in South Africa. This helps to fulfill Dori’s wish for a humanitarian and cultural connection between the people of post-Apartheid South Africa and fellow citizens of the United States.
